Building Goals: HAMPTON-DUMONT HIGH SCHOOL WILL INCREASE
READING COMPREHENSION PROFICIENCY AND PROMOTE ASSIGNMENT COMPLETION BY 1) Giving students the opportunity for extra credit only if they have completed all class assignments. 2) Ensuring all freshmen students understand how to routinely check their grades using Powerschool. 3) Administering a quality character education program through daily advisory meeting time. 4) Increasing the expectation that all students use their planners. 5) Randomly awarding students for having their planners filled out or all assignments completed.

Silver Cord hours anyone??
The PTO carnival is this Friday from 5-8 pm at the middle school. Students are invited to help run the games. Silver Cord hours will be given. Please see Mrs. Christiansen to sign up.
Junior Class - we need YOU !!!!
The Junior class will again be working on prom decorations Tuesday and Thursday this week starting at 7:00 pm.
ITED Testing Make-ups
Students who miss any ITED tests this week should make plans with their advisor or Mr. Grundmeyer to make up the test they miss. Before school, study hall, or after school are good times to make up missed tests.
Reconnecting Youth
Because of ITED testing, Reconnecting Youth will not meet Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday this week. Students should report to study hall or the Success Center.
Prosper Surveys

The Key Club is having a food drive
next week. Food will be collected by advisory, with points being given for different items. The advisory with the most points at the end of the week will win the right of skipping advisory for a week (March 29-April 2). The second place team will miss two days (March 30-31) and the third place team will miss one day (April 1). Look for flyers around the school that list food point values.

Some of you seem a bit confused about Friday's schedule this week. I.T.E.D. testing is finished Thursday with a REGULAR SCHOOL DAY on Friday including advisory study room with NO INCENTIVE. Won't it be great be normal ???!!!!

Gym Floor plans for this summer
Students and Staff, On July 23rd, 2010 the gym floors will be refinished for the next school year. Expect the gym at the New Middle School and the High School to be closed at least 2 days prior to this for our custodial engineering team to do the prep work. The gyms will remained closed for a period of time for the finish to cure after completion. For reopening times you will need to contact the maintenance personnel or principal in the building that you are wanting to use.

Girls and Boys Soccer meeting this Friday
There will be a mandatory meeting Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Iowa Falls high school gym. All parents and players must attend.
Friday Incentive
Previous to this change there was no Friday incentive scheduled this week because of ITED testing. However, there has been a change. This week only, students who have all 5 ITED tests complete can earn the Friday incentive. Students who need to finish testing should plan on going to their advisor Friday to complete their tests.
Prom Invitations for Seniors.....
Senior invitations are being sent out for the Junior Senior prom to be held at HDHS on Saturday, April 10th. Being the hosts, Juniors will not recieve an invitation but are encouraged to attend. The banquet is free to HDHS juniors and seniors, however the banquet for your date would be $12.00. Members of both classes will be able to RSVP to their prom invitations starting Monday, April 5th and continuing til Thursday, April 8th at 3:30.

FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT! Congrats to the team of Uriah Hansen, Isaac Hanson, Jordan McLennan, Slater Johansen, Gabby Clark, Joel DeYounge, and Tory Kalousek for qualifying for the state mock trial tournament. Also congratulations to Caleb Haynes, James Roethler, Ellen Flickinger, Juan Bello, Carter Collins, Maggie Myers, Elly Nachazel for 2 great rounds of competition!!! Way to go everyone!!!!!!!!
