Building Goals: HAMPTON-DUMONT HIGH SCHOOL WILL INCREASE READING COMPREHENSION PROFICIENCY AND PROMOTE ASSIGNMENT COMPLETION BY 1) Giving students the opportunity for extra credit only if they have completed all class assignments. 2) Ensuring all freshmen students understand how to routinely check their grades using Powerschool. 3) Administering a quality character education program through daily advisory meeting time. 4) Increasing the expectation that all students use their planners. 5) Randomly awarding students for having their planners filled out or all assignments completed.

Fine Arts Workshops coming up at ECC Ellsworth Community College is sponsoring a day of fine arts workshops for all high school students on February 17. Break-out sessions will include music, art, creative writing, drama and photography. This is a free event and open to any student in high school. For a registration form, please see Mrs. Christiansen.


Sweetheart Swirl Activities Clubs are choosing their candidates this week. Posters are to be up in the study hall by Tues. 2/9. There will be an assembly Monday, 2/8 during advisory time to introduce the candidates.


Senior Class Officers Senior class officers should plan on meeting with Mr. Grundmeyer in the office at 8:00 on Tuesday, Feb. 8th.


Mac Lab will be open on Wednesday nights from 3:30-4:00 to work on e2020.

Cell Phone Clarification Students - The END of your school day is 3:30 (not at 3:03 when the bell rings for advisory). Advisory time is part of the school day. Please be reminded that the H-D school policy on cell phones (found in your planner) states you must not use your cell phones during the school day (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m).


Simon Estes Tickets on sale in the office The world-renowned opera singer and Iowa native will be preforming to raise money for the Windsor Theatre. The event will be held on March 5. Get your tickets in the high school office for $5.00 students and $10.00 adults.


SNOW REMOVAL - - Students and staff - do not leave any vehicles or other equipment in the parking lots overnight when snow is likely to occur. Moving snow around obstacles is very time consuming and property damage could occur very easily.


Congratulations to Ariel Grote who was voted drama club sweetheart swirl candidate. We will be working on the poster today after school and could use some help. Meet in the lunchroom at 3:35.


Seniors - Please pay your $15.00 for your yearbook picture. If you submitted a color picture for the yearbook - you need to pay $15.00 to cover the cost of the color printing. This needs to be paid before the end of the school year - - Let's Git-R-Done. Thanks!


Student council will meet at 8 AM on Wednesday , February 10 in Mr. Fridley's room. Finalizing plans and workers for Sweetheart Swirl events Thursday and Friday will be our agenda.
